Veterans Guide assists veterans with obtaining proper disability compensation, financial assistance, the GI bill, and more. A big issue they aim to solve is veteran's disability and homelessness. During Veteran Awareness Month in November, we plan to work with them on combating this issue.
On Sunday November 2nd, we raised $100 dollars for the Flemington Area Food Pantry (FAFP) in celebration for the 11th annual Ameriprise National Day of Service. With the support from the entire community of Flemington, we are glad FAFP was able to beat their goal of feeding 1000 families by over 200!
The Farm Bill is a multi-part congressional legislation that helps support Americans from conserving lands for farmers to regulating supply chain disruption in the consumer market.
It was recently extended on August 2nd until 2029, however a crucial part of the bill, the part that supports domestic nutrition programs like TFP and SNAP, received a net decrease of 20.6 million dollars in funding, cutting off vulnerable families and people with disabilities nationwide.
To combat this, we’ve used our voices to gather dozens of signatures for Feeding America’s “Farm Bill Renewal” petition, encouraging our high schools students (such as above) as well as those in our local communities to sign over the last few months.
